SR swap AC confusion
I've trying to figure out the most cost effective way to hook up AC on my 90 red top swap. I've got 90 AC lines and a red top compressor. Heavy throttle says I can mount a 90 compressor with an easy bracket, but I'm not sure what that entails. I know the 91-94 compressor bolts up (kinda), but will it work with my 90 lines? What do you think?

what you want to do is get the SR bracket, and get the KA24DE compressor. You will then have to get a 3 ribbed, 35 inch belt, and use three of the four ribs on the pulley.
i.e. go to advance auto parts, and order a 350K3 belt, and you'll be in business.
Use only the top two bolts on the KA compressor / SR bracket gimmick.
Then for the lines, take the car to any A/C shop and they will make the lines for you and fill it. Do the conversion while you're at it, throw in a new drier and orifice tube, and you'll be good to go with freezing cold a/c in florida while boosted!

Thanks guys. Just to complicate things, I forgot to mention that I have the SR lines, too. Would it be easier to use the SR compressor then?
The drier is that canister thing by the battery, right?
Bumpin: I'm still rockin the sidemount, for now. Thanks for the tip!

well, the stock condensor fan will work perfectly with 240sx's with front mounts and a/c. we have a few running like this perfectly with no problems overheating in 100 degree weather.
if you have all of the sr/ lines you can do that as well, sr lines + sr compressor = yay!
you mihg tstill need to weld the correct tips on it thought, what i would do, is put the sr compressor on the sr bracket, and just have the sr tips welded on the sohc a/c lines. that will be the easiest way.

go to central air and radiator on nebraska. my a/c line hit my dump tube and burst. amazon wanted $125 to make a new one. i went to central and it was $30, and they made it longer for me. they did good fast work too. two months and still holdin up perfect.

$30 sounds like my speed. The budget to finish this project just got smaller since I had to make a visit to CMR Turbos...
I'd still like to know more about this "drier" part. My US one was a little damaged, but I have the JDM one. It looks like it will bolt up, too. It still has the old lines attatched to it, but they've been sidconnected from the system. Since it's been exposed to the atmosphere, do I need to replace it? If so, where do I get a new one?
