So I am pretty sure the the VTC cam gear is what is causing the sound I original thought was lifter tick. Need to locate a new or good condition used VTC gear and change them out.

 

I have one... More than welcome to come up to Venice and get it from me. I'll be home Friday evening.

I'm going to do a engine flush on this car.
I just changed the oil again and its so dirty looking already and it's only been a few hundred miles.

 

I'm positive it's good. It was on my last build running Toda's nvcs compatible cams. Never heard a rattle from it. $100picked up and it's yours.

 

Finally found the 20 minute drive over to Venice to pick up the VCT gear.
Hopefully I can find time soon to put it on.
Wondering if I should put a new timing chain tensioner on since I have to remove the old one to change the gear?

 

Sounds like a good idea. A little prentative maintenance with on the tensioner since youre in there could only be a positive step. Piece of mind is tough to put a price tag on.

 

VCT gear is replaced and the rattle is gone. Car has working VCT again.
My daughter even helped me do the work.

 

Got a new/used vlsd installed tonight by Glenn. Hopefully this one actually locks up. I will take the car to the track this week and have the car video`d from behind and see. My last one would one wheel peel.

 

Interior lights on the car were not very good. Dash lights were changed to blue and were very hard to see at night, especially the needles. 3 of the 2 hvac lights didnt work at all. So they were changed to yes you guessed it red LED`s. Much brighter now.

 

Didn't you want z32tt rims? Can't remember who it was that was wanting them.
