Default $2003 challenge help

am enterred in the Grassroots Motorsports Challenge--need performance parts and knowledge----the rules are simple-street tires-street equipment--spend NO MORE than $2003(and have receipts to prove it)
car should be here in 2-3 weeks-92 talon awd---according to the computer projection--I need 280 HP ,275 ft/lbs torque,1800 lbs
I am an excellent fabricator (25 yrs experience) and have raced scca for 15 yrs--the car/cage/suspension is handled--but who here can help me get the power I need--I would like to get it into the low 11's.high 10's--the computer says it will do it
I have a very short time to do this---only 6 weeks from car delivery
remember the budget--2003 total---and I figure it will take 1200 for the car--leaving 800 for performance mods to the engine
My email address is ckjb4got@aol.com
and I live in Lakeland
HELP!!!!!!!

goodluck getting 800 bux to get you into 11's, honestly if its just a one time thing, go buy some nitrous, 2 of the big bottles! squirt a 300 shot, as for the 1800 lbs...you better start losing some wieght yourself.

if you want 280 hp tho, all i can think of is do the basic free mods.

$50 buy a Dremel set
$0 Pull the lower honeycomb & silencer
$0 clean out your IC and remove the back splash panel
$0 Rewire fuel pump
$0 Cut Up your aircan
$35 K&N filter (from discount)
$55 Boost Guage
$45-60 MBC (i got a Joe P. for $40, they're cheap)
$55 4layer head gasket (if your gunna run a lot of boost youll need something to hold it, Ft meyers mitsu)
$500 used 16G

all that is like $740 and good for 260whp i would guess, maybe more maybe less. go to www.dsmtuners.com for a 1G parts list and try to find the cheapest things there. sorry to say tho, i dont think you'll get what your expecting.

if your good with a dremel or can find someone to port for cheap, port the turbo/ex mani/head/intake mani

as for low 11's the best of us are running 11's i dont think anyone has went into 10's yet tho...some are close.

go to www.dsm.org and www.vfaq.com as well.

jesus i wish i was, but i was referring to the twins and joe and jerry and eric, ya know, the usual im scraping for 14's but hey, what can i do, im stock, i got to put my MBC in and i was running a 9.5xx 1/8th with just free mods (no bcs mod done) plus the 2.0xx launches are hurting me too, i just have no idea what else i can do to lower them, im lettin the clutch out from 5k as quick as possible without bucking it. maybe the clutch is slipping or something.

and i know there are some 10 second cars, but dont know of any from TBDSM

There really aren't any vacumm lines that you need other than the BOV(Blow-off/Bypass valve), Fuel pressue regulator, and the wastegate actuator. All the other shit can go, all the nipples on the throttle body can be capped off.

what kind of race is it? drag racing? road course?

fuck a K&N on a "race car" run an open maf.

hell if the car is only running for a short period of time it's HIGHLY unlikely you'll suck anything through the intake.

K&N's are for daily drivers.

if it's a drag race type of thing, turn the boost up. high. like 18-20 lbs.

just make sure it's cooled down before you run and let it cool down after.

this all depends on what kind of longevity you are looking for, but that will make it very quick for a short period of time.

grab a non turbo fuel pressure regulator from a junkyard too to up the base fuel pressure. ( shouldn't be more than 5-10 bucks)
