Default In need of some advise

I had just bought a 2004 mitsubishi eclipse gs with 42,xxx miles. At idle the rpms go up and down, the machanic said its surging at idle. Well i don't know much but idk how to fix it. The engine light isn't on and i just replaced the front o2 sensor myself. If any help, it would help.

Have you checked into your idle air control valve (or something of the sorts)? Worth looking into.

tap the idle air control valve with a wrench while its running and see if it either smooths out the idle or gets worse.

Check out the BISS, ISC, TPS, and vacuum leaks. All can cause those issues. Look at vfaq.com, most of the info on the sensors I stated moves over to the 3g's.
