Default crankwalk....

ok...ive had my dsm for about 2 months now..just wondering what should i look out for in order to prevent it or even look out for it...i have an extended warranty and i wanna take it in to have it worked on... i was at brandon mitsubishi and they said they worked on a fewcrankwalked dsm's and the tech seemed like he knew about it...i was shocked....i was thinking about having the bearings replaced and crank angle sensor and if needed the crank shaft also...ive heard dowel pins on some applications held it real good and was a good fix when doing this job....my question is should i just ride out the 2g motor and just swap in a 6 bolt 1g? what do you guys think? anyhelp would be appreciated.

ride out the 2G motor and wait for it to go if it does. remember not all will walk. and if its under warrenty... hell yeah wait it out. and when that warrenty ends. and then it does walk. then get the 6 bolt ready

yeah i had a feeling i should do that...hey mr2 sorry about the flaming on that other post...u seemed like an ass but then again this is the computer....thanks for the input on this post tho...do u have any knowledge on dsm's? seems like u do....what color is ur mr2 by the way...i have a friend who wrecked his and is getting a body kit and some wild paint job put on it....sad thing is he has been without the car for almost a year...sucks for him...i would fix the car and used the left over insurance money to make it quicker...but to each his own...what u got done to ur mr2?

damn not bad....does he still have the dsm...or is he an mr2 man....but in another post u told me 2g's boost stock 12-13lbs....but my autometer gauge reads 9 or 10....why is that? its all stock nothing done to it but lowering springs and my tri pod with af boost and oil...oh and a blitz turbo timer....but thats all..no performance mods...why is that?

Sorry for a stupid question, but what exactly IS crankwalk?? I always hear people say that's one of big glitches in DSMs, but no one's ever really explained it to me.

NOt bad? It's one of the fastest imports on the road around here.

Stock is 9psi I believe. My car ran 11psi with the boost controller off, but I had full exhaust and intake on the car. He said I was wrong, but that's what mine ran. I think he just forgot because it's been so long since his was anywhere near stock!!

crankwalk is when the bearings have movement(play) horizontally....not a good thing....thus when they move far enuf they smash the crank angle sensor....therefore ur ride aint going anywhere....sucks...thats just a small little explanation of crankwalk...if u wanna get in depth on it u should read up on it...sucks thats mitsubishi didnt do a recall on something they know is their fault....
