Wtb Swap 4 Eclipse
she doesnt need much power... she doesnt need turbo or anything.
i was just wondering if there would be a better engine than the (im assuming the stock eclipse engine is 420?) since we gonna replace it anyway i was just wondering if there were anything better as far as performace goes. she doesnt need much speed lol.

420a 95-99 eclipse and talon only 2000-and up 3 g eclipse which is your engine is as stated above 4g64 sohc pos engine. well no power. its a good engine j p. however the only thing u can do is build a high compression engine with a web ground cam that will give it that extra little power you are looking for. besides that your sol if you dont want turbo. and a 4g63 2G head will not work on that. its on the other side of the engine bay. The evo head on the 03 evos and up is different from 1 and 2 g stuff. if you are facing the engine 1G and 2G ENGINE IS on the right hand side correct. Well look at a evo left hand side. Thats a serious difference. Im not the all knowing but it says it right there. The oil passages are completely different not to mention the head is designed for intake on the back and exhaust on the front. You can only use a evo 03 and up head. Godd luck with this upgrade to something your going to need it ....
^yep he can swap a dual cam head onto it (evo or 2g), and then flash the stock ecu with an Evo rom. This will net about 160-165hp. Stick a 14b on there and 250hp is cake...hell you dont even have to do that. You can just get some sort of EMS and then put a stock turbo and manifold on the single cam head. Thats gonna limit you to the low 200s though.
4g64 is a good motor...same internally as the 4g63, its just the pistons rings that are different. They are good for about 18psi MAX then they will blow out lol. What I've read anyway...
also there is an evo8 head in the forsale section. If youre serious jump on it, they dont show up here too often.

remember the its not your 4g64 engine man its on the other side of the engine bay...
he can put a 4g63 head on it. thats one of the hybrid motor swaps to do. alot of 3g owners are doing it.
to the OP even if you throw a 4g63 head on it with a stock turbo mani and stock turbo. it would be a decent upgrade without going nuts with power. or just stick to basic bolt ons and whatnot for some improvement.

he would need an evo head or one of the hyundai heads that fit. forgot what model car.
