^That would be something worth shooting for. Def would be a great swap. I think getting one of those motors would be hard to find unless buying new. I would say chances of finding a wrecked one would be slim.

i can't link you to search results, but if you look on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market you'll find several Ralliart and Evolution engines available throughout the country.

If you're gonna be different, be really different

I looked into the swap a while back but was too much $. I decided to be different by building a high comp + spray car instead

I wouldnt recommend the swap without a donor wrecked evo. its by far the easiest and cheapest way to get it done. the 10 evo would swap nicely as well. but the hp tech on them is not up to speed. I would use plain ole evo 8.

I read all the comments and have actually thought and talked about this with Dave. The swap would be similar to the Mirage we are building or THE_ONE's civic. It would take a complete custom rear end and some fabrication on the front. imo you could make a much faster 2g adding to your build and making it awd. Now if your not in love with your shell and you want to make something original with an evo motor, get a 3g. The evo motor bolts right in and can use the 3g trans. This could give you a nasty 1/4 car. You could build the auto trans, do some weight reduction and you would sleep on a lot of people. If you want to sit down with us, we would be happy to go over this build with you, pro's and cons.

No shell, but was looking into a clean 2G N/A and the evo swap in the 2G's has always been an interest to me. The 3G's aren't as appealing to me as the 2G's. I know there would be a lot of work involved as well as fab and customization.

I guess I am confused on why the evo motor. You can make as much power with the motor you have and just convert it to awd. I guess if I was going to take on this project, I would first see how much I could get the swap for. Now we have an evo 9 long block that is stroked with carrillo rods. The Head needs shaved due to the piston hitting from missing a gear and over revving it, it needs new pistons (imo) and rebuilt. I would have to talk to Rob on the price.

so you have a awd tranny for a 420A? you can get a 420A to hold as much power as a evo motor? ps evo motor because it bolts in a na 2g.
