Default cel causing the evo to run bad?

i have an 03 evo viii. the only mods i have are a turbo back exhaust, intake, and a manual boost controller(set to 18-19lbs). my check engine light came on about three hours after the install of the turbo back exhaust. everything still seemed to run fine. so i took the car to a friends shop to see what the cel was from. the cel is from the exhaust. i noticed that when i get on it a little bit, it feels like the plugs are fouling. so i changed the plugs thinking that might help. it did for a day or so, then it started running like crap again. judging by the old plugs, it seems to be running lean. could the cel be causing this? any thoughts would be awesome. thanks.

The cel is from the exhaust? You mean the rear o2 is throwing a code? This generally doesnt effect the way the car acts...

The next code you should be expecting is the egr.

Pm me and I can set you up with a flash for the car to simulate the signal for the rear o2 sensor so you dont have to run it...

Assuming you have an intake, we can crush the factory bov to prevent boost leaking and I can tune it for around 22-24psi. This is something than can be done on the street.

Let me know what you decide.

I hate to oppose you on this ....but it will effect the way the car runs. In many cases, since the rear o2 has the temp controls, it will add fuel to lower the exhaust temps. The car will actually think the front o2 is reading wrong and compensate.

Just go get a spark plug antifouler and put it between the rear o2 and the exhaust. This will remove the sensor from the direct path of the flames in the exhaust, and kill the check enine light..

"Generally" meaning I have seen it both ways. When experementing with the rear o2 sim. patch, I tested with and without. Recording no changes in afr's and maintaining the high octane ign and fuel maps. Just getting rid of the cel.

IMO/EXPERIENCE, it is easier to run a rear sim patch.
But to each their own. Every car reacts differently. Good luck.

your car running like ass is from the bov. we already discussed this. it's a boost leak from hell. you need to get rid of the ebay one and get a real one.

Hahahahaha whos is this shop.....Blurrbosi?---Do u guys work on mitsus? At all? I dont mean this to come off as a bash but ive read 2 threads and you guys have given bad advice in both. Again i am not trying to bash you just trying to figure it out.

Im just curious , but if your gonna bump up boost and fool the ecu about the rear o2 ROFLMA.

Anyways, dont be dumb dont boost PAST 22, and when u get your leak fixed.....go get it tuned as long as your running a testpipe/hi flow and a catback. Other than that dont waste your time with a tune. Go AFC or another small piggyback. And use a damn o2 backout....not a resister

so because of a boost leak in the bov, im miss-firing? thats what the car is doing. and yes, the bov is a knock off. but, the internals were taken out of a real greddy type-s.
