Default 1g 7bolt compression

So I decided to compression test my motor today (found out my knock sensor had a broken wire ) and I came up with some weird results...

I got 180-180-178-179 , this is on what I believe to be a 1994 1g 7-bolt. I was under the impression that since it's a 7.8:1 motor that it should be closer to 160? I'm just wondering whats up with my motor. Maybe 2g pistons or something? JR told me the 1g 7bolts are 8.5:1 like the 2g motors...any one know for sure?

Found my info here How to do a Compression Test

Compression Test Vs. Leak-Down Test - DSM Forums

thanks

That's normal with stock cams, about 175-180, you have to also take carbon build up into account.

A healthy 2g will read 190ish

Thanks for the response...car was seafomed not too long ago so hopefully my motor is still "healthy". I do get a bit of valve seal smoke if I idle it for 10 minutes or so.
