question about awd half shafts

question about awd half shafts

the bracket (bearing assembly) for my half shaft on my awd 2g isn't lining up correctly. the bolt hole meets flush on the side closer to the passenger but the other bolt hole still has a gap. is there a difference between 1g and 2g assemblies and i have the wrong one or something? any help would be appreciated. and if any one would be willing to look at it that would be great too.

a/c bracket goes in that space. you can make spacer if not using a/c

ok but it still doesn't look like the axle is lining up straight

don't have a camera. when you look at the seal on the trans there is more space on the front side compared to the back side so it leaks once i drop the car.

Most of the time a seal can only be correctly installed with equal space all the way around it, and it fits tightly at the outside edge as well as fitting tightly around the axle.

If you had a friend with a camera phone, so we could see the problem
and how the space is greater on one side, it would be easier to diagnose.......if not, PM me with an address and a phone number, I do a lot of mobile repairs and I may stop by to physically look at it when I'm over your way again.-Bob

i'll see what i can do. i sleep during the day and work at night and i'm currently in the process of looking for an apartment in orlando so my only 2 days off are spent over there. so i never really have much time.
