I got my car back from Darkside performance last night after peppering drew with a thousand questions. I had to drive it to Lakeland, it made it there with flying colors . But about 30 min of driving in the city I start to hear a odd noise in the engine bay. Its comming from either the timing gear/power steering pulley. Its something that I have never heard before working at Nissan for 2+years... 'rub RuB RUB, rattle' it gets progressivly louder, and rattles like a rattle snake. At idle theres 10-15 sec between the noise. I'm going out there now, but anyone have an idea? The car runs great, no issues.

 

maybe there a rattle snake hiding in ur engine bay, who knows.

 

ok, well it happens at idle to redline. If I get on it, it goes away. But as soon as I restart the car, most of the time it comes back. I've checked the timing belt, its tight when the engine is stopped. Also, when the car is running the belt is tight, its not flopping around or 'bouncing' around.
