I know this isnt tech but i feel its better to know where the current dsmers come from since i have met a few of you recently.Mods if this thread breaks the rules go ahead and lock it.Try to keep it short we dont need life stories or details and mods on every dsm you have owned or own.I'll chime in once i remember....

I fell in love with the car when I first saw one in 1990 at the mall. It was the black talon with the silver bottom. I finally got one in 93. It was a 92 eclipse gs. I absolutely love the car. I honestly didnt know a thing about turbo engines at the time. My best friend got a trans am ( about a year or so after i got the GS )and as much as i love my eclipse i hated that it was slower than the TA. So I saved up so I could trade it in on turbo one because they were obviously faster. It was a 93 TSI FWD. WOW what a difference. Thats where the love for a dsm took on a new meaning and where i started the craving for awd. I have since then owned several dsm`s and one GVR4 (all awd).

 

Well lets see
1. 94 acura integra b18c built supercharged = tractionless
2. 97 honda prelude, in the rain = tractionless
3. 01 si blue honda prelude turbo charged = tractionless
4. 01 integra type r = tractionless
5. 99 eclipse anniversery gs, fully built + nos = tractionless
6. 94 talon awd = traction but also = old looking not my style
7. 93 civic si w/h22 + nos better looking but still = tractionless


Also the reason I discovered awd was through a guy that used to be around here. He had a black 2g awd that was modded, he took me for a ride out the hole. That was all she wrote I was sold from there.... All I could remeber is his car said SS on it, don't remember if it was on the plate or sides. I here he died though, rip
After that I set out for awd 2g and found one at Jerrys!

I saw my first dsm up close while at high school(2000).It was a red 1g gst auto that a good friend of mine owned(i made fun of his 13g).After high school i got into imports with a crx which i swapped in a bigger engine and turboed(with 1g dsm parts).Around the same time i started hanging out with Brian(nouseforaname) and watched him build his 91 Tsi fwd.His car was very impressive for the amount of mods and money involved and I was hooked.I have met alot of people in the scene over the years and my laser is my 13th dsm.Ironically my first running dsm was a 1g red Gst auto which i wrecked.Its also weird two O.G dsm guys lived in my area and i went to high school with them(Kris ?, and Damon from twin cam).

 

well, i think what got me hooked was watching ugly ass 1G talons whoop up on lambos and porsches. then once I actually got working on some everything just seemed to work well. Also i do it because it makes me teh cooest kid around.

 

honestly...I liked how the car looked. when I was looking for a new car I was looking for a 00+ silverado reg cab short bed 5.3 OR a 00+ dakota r/t.

I saw my car on TR and was like damn, that shit is clean. so I went and looked at it and bought it the next day. Since then I have been getting more and more into DSMs. After riding and driving in Damon's (stly129) built GSX I have wanted AWD. I'm waiting for the day that I find a 2gb GSX thats perfect. That is my goal-pretty much my dream car. (not really but at this current point in time yes)
