You also endup with a car thats likey twice the initial cost crappy BOV smaller throttle body etc. The two cars trade offs but their are two big differences between them. The 2gs have looks and 1Gs have an engine that is a lot less likely to ever get crankwalk. When youre modding them youre going to be swapping parts all over the place so whether you want looks or an engine thats less likely to crankwalk on you should be the question you ask yourself.
p.s. Many 2Gs have not Crankwalked and never will but many of them do. Also an engine still has to be maintained and a 1G thats not been taken care of can still end up with a crappy engine.
