Looking for a place in the Tampa/St.Pete/Surrounding Area for a Tune
ive got the big 16g and drew tuned it to 22psi that shit pulls good and the feedback i get from them them is awsome, ive tried the other shops and even walked in with money wanted to get work done... they gave me the ol well call you and let you know..funny you would think walkin in to any shop with 2000 to spend and they would jump right on it
And a tip , make sure you spend your money right the first time or people will just take your money if they think you dont know what your doing.
Do a lot of reading and research, and have a realistic goal.
PM me and we can go over your set up , I may know a few little tips that you may find useful regarding your setup or even w/ the autox thing.

i think you were talking to the wrong guy. i'm the guy who brought up the autox.
any help and advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
I dont know too much about the Mazda Protege but in a basic
attempt to answer your question you want to stiffen it up as much as possible and lighten the car as much as you feel comfortable with as well.
Front and rear strut bars will help a little but not much,
but a rear sway bar should help your car a lot being that your FWD and
you have a lot of understeer. The rear sway bar should neutralize the car some, I dont recommend upgrading the front sway bar on a car that already understeers.
Stiffer bushings like the energy suspension kit can take any unwanted slop
out of your suspension.
If your current suspension is stock, id spend a little money in some nice coilovers and struts ( research what works best with your car)
But dont slam it on its nuts like the Honda guys do because that will actually make you handle worse. Theres a limit in a good drop.
The struts will play a big role too.
Distributing weight properly throughout the car helps in turning.
( This wont help FWD with traction ) but moving your battery to the trunk takes some of the weight off a nose heavy front end.
I dont know that cars weight balance but im sure that still applies.
You will also definitly want to do something to your camber as that can also affect traction around corners/ acceleration etc. Theres a ingall camber kit for dsm ( on my car ) but i dont know what protege uses.
Then tires will play a big part, I run the Ventus Rs2's 225/50/r16 which are autox tires on FD3S rims which are really light.
For stopping, look into investing in some good pads and braided brake lines. Ive been using the Hawk HPS brake pads for the past yr and they work good, no brake noise yet.
Thats about all I can think of, btw all of that applies to a awd or fwd dsm as well. ( AWD Dsms are still fwd biased.)
Well that was my best shot.

i actually don't live in B-town anymore. I moved to North Port about 5months ago. I did live there for almost 9years though.
I just recently bought the DSM, so you will probably not see me riding around B-town in it unless i;m up that way for some reason. You may have seen me riding around b-town though in a Black Mazda Protege5/323F.
You may have seen it around before. I have a black CF evo hood on it, and if you were ever behind me you couldn't miss it because i have a STREETUNIT.COM decal on the back bumper. I was rolling on 18' Rays G-Games when i lived up that way, but now i have 15' Rota GT3's on it.
ya dont recall seeing your car.i rolled in a blue mk3 turbo supra for a wile.i built sals 95 and 98 turbo 2g eclipse.simple mods on white boy bruces white 2g 97 eclipse till he slamed it into 2nd gear at about 90 miles an hour lol!toyed with alot of the old corollas rolling around town.well anyways what mods do you have on your 2g auto?
