Question about datalogger w/ 1g Talon
I acquired a 1g Talon AWD that has a cyclone motor swapped in. It has a few mods which probably arent relevant to my question, but anyhow. With the car I got a data logger cable. It's the DB9 comm connection on one end and 3 plugs (like crimp plugs) on the other end. Where do I plug these in and what program do I use to do logging?
I've searched google, TR and other DSM forums, but I suck at searching the internet and hopefully someone here will know. Also the ECU is socketed with what I was told was an EPROM from Jester Racing. I've no idea what exactly the tune is or whatever, but that's what I was told.
Ive done the usual maintanence that a 15 yr old car needs and now I want to see what the datalogger says about how the engine is running before choose any other upgrades.
Like I said before it has a bit done to it, but there are still questions I have that I cant find answers for since the car is a bit older and all the websites I have found usually refer me to old pages that dont exist.
Any help will be very much appreciated and wrench time will be paid in beer and maybe food.
I also got a set of new lifters (I guess that's what you'd call them) that supposed have a slightly larger oil passage than the stock ones. Are they worth the install? The only info I got on them is that they stop the 'annoying tapping noise'. Maybe I'm deaf but if that's all they're good for then it's probably not worth that, eh? If I decided on buying larger cams in the future should I wait to put them in then?
Thanks
Eric

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll do the lifters sometime soon when I feel up to it, lol...I hate taking off timing belts, it's such a PITA.
As far as what I said before in my first post about beer and pizza as payment for wrench time....how about beer and pizza for decoding and setting up a data logger and showing me how to use it? lol
Thanks!
