I have a 1997 eclipse Rs.Ive finished tuning it up and I was looking at the 2gnt.com power stages guide.I doubt it is that easy to just slap a turbo in your car.

Ive done everything on the Stage 0.Everything is running great just would like some direction on what to do that way not to blow the engine.Im willing to spend a couple grand to get this done.The most horsepower im wanting from this eclipse is around 280hp.

 

sounds to me like a t3/t4 hybrid will put you right where you want to be. you can find a kit for a couple grand

 

i would say sell the rs an find a gst. your going to be lookin at around the same money.

If it was a non turbo 1g dsm you could make it turbo easy if you have all the parts you need. Its just bolting it all up, and adding a few wires here and there considering it already has a 4g63 but the 420a motor isnt as easy to peddle with turbo whether it be swaps or boosting the 420a.. But if anything just try that and turbo the 420a... Or just go buy a gsx which would be the only good option in my opinion.

 

I am sure im going to keep the rs.So I would like to boost it.The 2gnt.com is telling is pretty much do you header and cold air intake and just buy a stage 2 kit from hahn racecraft.I also looked at another site and found a good kit aswell.

Any suggestions before I waste my money.

 

Get a GST/X. After tons of cash, you'll be wishing you had. No one ever likes when people say that, but it's the sad truth. With a couple grand in upgrades, you'll probably be barely touching the performance of a relitively stock turbo DSM.

 

dont waste your time boosting the 420a get a gst and mod it a little and be happy

 

Dont listen to these guys...Im actually stuck on myself at the moment...Im doing the same but i am putting in a 5spd conversion....Just do some looking around i have a few friends in my little town that are showing me how they did theres so i will add some pics and stuff soon...Cause the the Lightning is killing me in gas..

Honestly, it's a waste of time and money. even if you do it you might feel like your money was well spent untill you go for a ride in 4g63 powered car...
