Its just the angle of the camera. The front wheels are spinning.

A few things to check,
Check your shifter cable linkage, make sure one of the shifter levers arent binding, then check your clutch engaugement/disengaugment.
Slave and master cylinder,
And Fluid level( shouldnt effect putting it in gear but check anyways)

Solid wheel bearings from a skateboard or razor skooter can pop in the shifter cables and make it feel more solid, along with shifter base bushings to the shifter plate. Your whole shift cable alignment can be all screwed up and its setting the gear on the right track. Or if something physically blocking the shift cable from moving up or down it will do that..
Just some thoughts.

sry to rain on ur porade but aving a subie and a 3000gt vr-4 both brake alot i mean sh*t my 3000 has been dead for like a year and a half and ive dumped about 8k fixing/upgrading my subie change wont help to much but learning how to diagnose the problems will just my .02 cents
