questions about an eclipse
i just bought a 1992 mistubishi eclipse with 1.8 slow as hell i know but what could you do to that motor or car to increase horsepower and make it a little bit quicker. not looking for a whole hell of a lot but what is possible that you could do? i dont know a lot about eclipses this is the 1st one ive ever owned...send me pms or on here

holy shit whats up with the neg rep? but anyways u can either turbocharge the motor or swap a 4g63t in there inted of buy a shit load of parts for the 1.8 and gaining 15whp.

yeah its not really really slow but not as fast as the kid was telling me i bought it from lol its not too bad, yeah i wanted to do some stuff to it without doing a swap cuz someone told me a descent swap for that car was expensive and all. i was going to do a bodykit but cant find to many that i like a whole lot anyways thanx for the info

its a 1.8? how is it not slow. you can find everything for the swap all around locally for fairly inexpensive. dont buy it all at once if you cant,. just slowly piece it together. it will be well worth its weight in gold after its together.

+1 You should be able to do the whole thing for less than $700
Its just a matter of finding the right deals. All you need is a complete 4g63 7bolt is fine, those are a dime a dozen then the whole wiring harness, ecu, tranny and axles and youre good to go.

body kits are pointless waists of money, spend 400 on a body kit or 400 on a nitrous kit so u can have some fun on the way to the junk ard with that POS.

no you are sadly mistaken it is accualy relly relly slow, best bet= sell the car buy a honda, put a body kit on it, a muffler, neons, intake, stickers. it should go 10s.

i am simply helping him out he would not want to waist his time and money on a 1.8l 1g when a 1.8l honda b18 makes nearly twice the power for the same price.

If your not looking for a whole hell of a lot,then your best bet would be to find a n/a 2.0 motor,tranny,harness etc and put that in there.then you would have more ready available options such as headers,valve springs, so on.Its too bad for the 1.8 as it is a very bullet proof motor,if we were only in australia.
