Im bored.. Here are some Questions.
I am going to be doing some work to my car over the next couple months. The work has 3 centers of attention. Here are some descriptions and Questions about each.
1. Transmission
I have to do something about my clutch. I will probably be purchasing a new ACT2600 package C/PP/TOB because my PP doesnt seem right. Do you think having it Cryoed for $70 is a good idea? I am also thinking about getting a new stock flywheel. Anyone know pricing for this? I want to get my center diff welded while I have the Tranny out. If I have it open can any of you tranny savy guys come by and see if the guts are OK in exchange for some beer?
2.Timing belt
69k miles... Its BEEN time. Plus my Crank pulley is crap. I plan on an unorthodox pulley and all the recommended Timing Belt goodies. Im also thinking of pulling the balace shafts. Anyone besides Aaron have this done WITHOUT an engine balance? Can it be done with the engine in the car? p.s. anyone wanna help again?
3.That area between the Head and Downpipe
STILL have to get that little compressor (20g) from Kevin need to pickup that O2 eliminator from Jeff/John I have the 2g ported manifold. I need to get this done. I think I want to put the Manifold and O2 Eliminator on with the 14b for now. Can anyone tell me why it wouldnt be worth the work to do that and then switch to the 20g in about a month? Or anyone tell me why I should do it for now?
Thanx guys.... Im not bored anymore.

1) Yes get new PP/C/TB. Cryo...dont think its worth it for a PP. Never been in a tranny but would like to know how hard it is to get the diff. out so i can get mine welded in the future.
2)I know of a few off hand but no one locally.
3) Put that shit on and go 12s on the 14b DAMNIT! Doesnt really matter. Its all gotta come off one way or another when you put the 20G on anyway. Not that much work really. Were talking maybe 2 hours to swap it all in.

1) Dont bother cryoing it. Maybe the flywheel but not the PP. As for the center diff...you have to take the top cover and then the 5th/rev. synchro out. Then pull the next cover off. It takes a skilled welder to weld up the diff. so make sure you get it done right. You could also just weld up the viscous coupling which is under the top cover and then you can swap it in and out (to unlock the drivetrain) in a matter of minutes.
2) Ive heard of several people doing this without pulling the engine or rebalancing. Its a major PITA to get the bearings where they need to be without removing the engine though. Advice: Pull the engine do it right and have it rebalanced.
3) Why not? Its not that much work to drop in the O2 eliminator. The manifold is more work but worth it. Advice: pick up 4 (yes 4) new turbo bolts and throw away the stud. Makes swapping the turbo possible without pulling the manifold again.
