ok this is probably a dumb question but i have a good reason to ask. well...the good reason is that i just want to know. without finding out for myself.

could a 2g eclipse with a 16g and supporting mods on 16psi beat a 2007 STI(with intake and boost controller, i dont know how many psi) from a roll?

im not trying to bench race at all, just wondering. because i have the same mods as the 2g, and i think im around 280 hp. but the STI has about 280 hp stock right? anyways SOMEONE was talking about how they put 2 cars on the above mentioned STI in the above mentioned eclipse from a roll. wondering if thats feasible.

 

Person driving the Eclipse is a better driver?

 

i think they have mor like 300 hp and for some reason they just feel faster maybe the way the motor is cause its horizontal and the intercooler is right their so it has like no lag

 

The only way i can see the eclipse beating the sti is if you get bigger injectors and turn the boost up. If all the sti has is a boost controller and an intake, from a 40-60 roll I don't see why the eclipse couldn't win. The sti is 300hp but loose alot to the wheel. Anything lower that a 40-roll, the eclipse will spin and the sti will hook and it's over. Try it and find out.

The 6speed sti was pushing 16lb of boost.

 

stock sti has no where near 280 hp to the wheels and my 3rd gear pulls hella hard. The 6 speed transmission killed him. He wasnt the best driver but my car was pulling strong. We raced again on wet roads and i lost traction at the top of second gear, i shifted into thrid and pulled ahead of him by 1+ car. I can beat an evo, Most evos walk sti's so do you really think its not possible?

I put down around 260 hp at 15lb of boost during a extremly hot day in fl. I probally have around 280 hp to the wheels on a colder night with the added boost. The most the sti can have is 300 and i highly doubt it is making that to the wheels, Lets think about it a front wheel drive car pushing 280 to the wheels or an awd car pushing 300 hp from a 45 roll.... My car weights probably 600 lb lighter and i am a better driver. As soon as i get my super small exhaust leak fixed i wouldnt be amazed if i beat him worse. I am going to race the srt-4 again and brake boost, should give me an equal start to his 2.4 liter super crazy fast spooling stock turbo ha ha.

edit: i dont have an lsd or special intake manifold. i also have rediculously long-routed I/c piping

 

The trick is get him out of his second gear... 45 roll owns. second gear is the only real power gear i felt. I drove it and its hella fun to drive, i liked it better then the evo and eclipse. He also has 4 road racing tires that get hella good traction and cost more for 1 then all 4 of mine.
