what the hell????
I was driving home Fri. night after work, when I was getting off of the Bayside bridge I heard and felt this loud as hell thud, bang. Oh shit was the first thing I thought. As i turned onto Roosevelt i could feel the loss of power and was sure that I was the victim again of crankwalk. I figured oh well, and knew I could limp it the rest of the way. When I rolled into my parking space about 6 miles later, i thought to myself..... after I put it in neutral, rev it. i did, and to my relief it revved mean like always. Nothing wrong with the engine thank God. I immediatlely figured it was a cv joint, as I was told a few months ago by a fellow DSM'er. Sat. morning I got a good look at things and it sure aint a cv joint either. My drive shaft is sitting on the ground at a 45 degree angle up to the transfer case which is leaning down 45 degrees to my drive shaft. I dont know how this happened but I do know that my mechanic had told me that there were only 2 or 3 bolts holding it in and that that was fine. What do you guys think? Im wondering if one of the bolts wriggled its way out and the case dropped spitting out the shaft. Lemme know all.

Who worked on your car? I would take it back to him, and demand my money back. If in fact it was what he worked on last.
