yea you need to hook a jumper wire to the connector and ground it out somewhere. its like a round connector i cant explain it, but it was running along the firewall for me

That looks like it.
You need to ground that wire while timing the car.

Thanks a lot guys, im gonna try to ground that plug next time i check timing. Just curious though, what is that plug and why does it affect timing?
