Default Need some help plz

posting this for a friend he owns a 00 eclipse and He was told by some guy that took his head off that the lil oil retainers (not sure of there exact name) that let the oil get into the head got clogged up so his head didnt get any oil. Its makeing a knocking sound from the head now. What all would need to be replaced in the head how much do you think it would cost him to fix or just to replace the whole head.

sounds like a lifter problem, one might be clogged or collapsed either way it is prolly a good idea to replace them. They can be bought pretty inexpensively on ebay now.

you should have someone listen to it in real life btw, just so you can be sure of what it is.

I went out there and listened to it and pulled the head off. The lifters were shot and ratting around cause they were so clogged up. so we went and bought some new 1's and come to find out the block is cloged and only shooting oil through a few of them. I checked the oil pimp and its working just fine. so my friend is gonna just replace his whole motor theres a junkyard out here in lakeland that can get him a complete motor for anywere around 700-1000 depending on what car and how many miles it has on it.

Everything about that post screams money being wasted and mistakes being made.

bring the head somewhere to get cleaned out, buy new lifters. much cheaper that way. puttin in a new engine is rediculous.
