egt gauge

If your gauge is bouncing around like that at idle it's not working properly. It's the gauge, probe, or wires.

on my egt, the box where all the wires go, was the thing that was screwed up. you should get a wideband. i got rid of my egt.

is it true that the probe should be installed on the exhaust manifold, right off of the number 1 cylinder?

thats where it should be for the most accurate readings, everywhere else is kinda hit or miss.

wideband is good for a/f's but egt is good for seeing if your running to much or to little timing
