i think the cyclone intake only works good with a 6 bolt head? or a ported head?

I am sure those links will pretty much say the same thing I am going to say but here it goes anyway.

The "cyclone" intake has dual runners and a butterfly valve that is supposed to open and close the second set of runners for more low end response. However, the United States spec ECUs are not programmed to activate this butterfly valve. So basically that intake manifold is the same as the US spec one and the second set of runners are never used.

Another issue these intake manifolds have are with the US spec air conditioning compressors. The bracket for the compressor will not fit with the "cyclone" intake manifold. It does need to be modified. Some people have this issue when swapping in the Jspec engines into their american 1gs.

As far as the butterfly valve thing goes, there have been some people that have successfully set it up to work. However, how much is your time worth?

PS I have a '92 tsi awd for sale in the classifieds...
