duude
Rule one, never by a dsm unless your:
a) an excellent or certified mechanic
b) have a more than sufficient bank account
c) have a jules effect where your parents will take care of everything
d) have a very good job where it doesn't hurt to spend every other check on it.
Sorry that this happened to you, I say suck it up and have the Brothers fix it, then sell it. You will get alot more for it that way and account for what the cost to fix would be!
I delt with it over and over and over again, only because of what I have into it.

I've spent more money fixing getting the car running right then modding it so far..

Yes you do spend more money fixing the cars then you do modding them and depending on who owns it sometimes its more off the road then on the road. Its always something... you replace one thing and another thing breaks or needs to be replaced.
what quality. I don't think there's a such thing with DSM's. I think mostly the interior stays more intact then anything else but you do have the occasional headliner hanging. Exterior... paint fads, antenna base gets loose and you can move it around, headlights are hard to keep clear, etc. Engine Bay and its contents too long to list lol.
