I understand that its pretty simple, ive read the VFAQs over and over again, and i think i could do it, its just that if a bolt were to break i dont have the stuff i need to fix it, The car is also my DD so i cant really afford to have it out of commission for like a week while i take my time figuring things out. Id rather watch it be done first then, the next time i can attempt it myself.

At the moment im using a hard pipe to the stock IC location, but i still have the stock hose so if i have to i can put it back on.

Thanks for all the info guys, ill talk to jerry and the brothers and see what happens.

that is a very good book. although the book is very out-dated, and to the normal person, it sounds like jibberish. not everyone can understand the technical terms used by the mechanical engineer that wrote the book.

PS take it to LANCERMAN or the BROTHERS. they know what the fuck they are doing, and very reasonably priced.

I agree, I do my own work when I can but there are more people out there than just 2.

The point I think he was trying to make was that, he is an average person that got the job done by reading up on the subject and trying it out.

I can't help but agree. It's hard to learn about this kind of stuff if you dont get your hands dirty. And it's not like he can mess that much up by swapping the turbo out, especially if he was paying attention to what he's doing and he has researched it.

But i do understand the feeling of just wanting it done right the first time.

The reason why everybody suggests Lancerman and Brothers, is because they have been working with these cars for years and have built a really good reputation. They have fair labor prices, unlike shops like sidewinder, and they get the job done all the same if not better.

I defended my statement since you went against it. Yes, most people should not touch their own cars just like a lot of people shouldn't even be driving. Some people don't know what car their even driving/own when their putting in a insurance claim. Yeah I'm saying everybody should run to the nearest part store and buy themselves a tool set and get to wrenching... thats exactly what I said . Lets not turns things around I never mentioned "everybody". So its advice, you may not think it was so "great". I like the sarcasm by the way. But it was advice I gave just like others. Your entitled to your opinions just like I'm entitled to mine. By the way I'm not missing the point... I didn't tell him "do it yourself." I gave him that option OR take it to someone that can do it. Its his car, he does what he wants. Whether its breaking out the tools or having it done by someone. I think you missed my point.

I agree. There's not a whole lot to research either on this. But I always try to do my research on things before I try jumping into it. Just like for about 3 weeks now I've been researching about the FMU I'm going to install on my car soon. Everyone keeps saying its easy but I'm still confused on it. All I can do is read and try or have someone help me that has done it. Still want to see how they do it so I can do it myself if there's a next time. The turbo swaps I did myself, but I wouldn't recommend everybody to do it. I like cars and like working on them and figuring things out. Its not something I want to do everyday but I atleast want to know about the car I'm driving just in case. I can't do everything on these cars but I'm willing to learn. Just like I didn't know how to take stock springs off and put lower springs on. I watched and will attempt to do it next time I have to do it if ever lol but I still want to try. I never said he should do it himself and take it to no one. I also suggested he could take it to someone, watch how they did it and maybe try it himself the next time. I think I gave about 3 options and many opinions, none negative... just suggestions.

Many people on here know what they are doing, just dont mess with someone elses headaches. If you still need someone to do it, send me a pm, works kinda slowed down for me lately.

What the hell has happened to this place lately, everyone has turned into a bunch of little bitches. 8 million threads about one that got locked...fuck. get over it, fight or stop being pussies about the shit and let it go. This shit needs to stop, its like being in fucking 5th grade again.

Caps lock is about 1.33 millimeters from where your pinky should be. (pinky should be on the "A" key)
