Default overboost question

i had problems i can't keep the boost steady. if i WOT the boost will keep going over 25psi. i have a external wastegate delta mark II and greddy profect A. the weird thing is when i used to turn my boost control off; my boost was 10 -12 psi. now i can't control it.

if it is the wastegate how can i test it? how it really works?

thanks

Did the nipple come off the wastegate? Check all your vacuum lines and make sure everything is connected.

Ive also heard the delta gates are crap... Thats just internet heresay though. Check the vac lines and if everything is hooked up properly Id try a different wastegate.

I dont see how the turbo would be relevant considering boost is controlled via a wastegate which he states he is using a deltagate.

If you have some new found information please do share...

Perhaps you did not read my post, in which case I will break this down for you.

The turbo itself does nothing but blow hot air. It has nothing to do with boost control. That is what the wastegate is there for, if there was not a wastegate the turbo would just compress to its limit. The wastegate opens at a certain point to allow those exhaust gasses to bypass the turbo.

Even if he was running an evo3 16g he would still be using the deltagate wastegate not the stock wastegate. That is the point I was getting at. No matter what turbo he was running it would still come down to the wastegate.

Please someone, if I am wrong chime in.

He's not talking about boost creep, anyway - he's talking about NO boost control at all.

Your wastegate is either not seeing boost (check your lines and wastegate settings) or stuck closed.

What Ender is saying is yes the Evo3 16G is known for boost creep, with the stock internal wastegate. But this guy is Not running a stock internal on his Setup...

The next thing I would normally ask in here would be how is your wastegate mounted? If It's still off the wastegate dump then I would say you have not ported it to flow what the wastegate can flow.

But you said it holds steady with your boost control turned off, it seams as though everyone needs to focus their attention to the method of contol, and what the possible fixes could be.
