Default P0401

Ok so im out driving and on a weekly basis i check my codes... and tonite i pull the code PO401... Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Insufficient Flow ....

I read about possible causes and stuff to check.. anything particular on this car i should check first?

i have a 98 elclipse rs(t) 420a motor...

my main concern is that its going to mess with timing or something serious that can cause problems!!

Does the EGR system in my car have any effects on anything like that???

The EGR system is strictly emmisions related. It will not do anything with your timing. There is a Blockoff kit you can get if you are looking to remove the EGR system.

Might be able to fool it with a resistor or something. Check on 2gnt and see what they do to fix the code when they block off the EGR.
