Lancer Evolution Reliability/Quality/Durability
I'am well aware of the Evo being a extremly capable car (in performance aspects). But I'am wondering if they are plagued with the same common problems that are common amongst dsm's. Such as crankwalk (the biggest one that comes to mine), minor electrical nuissances(this is somewhat on the rare side for the later 1st gens on up from what i have seen), weak drivetrain parts, interior pieces that tend to fall off or become loose e.t.c. Or is it a pretty sound/solid well built car, and will be fine if maintained well ?
(Please do not see this thread as a flame of some sorts. I'am just a bit curious, and hoping someone will post their own personal experience , or an opinion on the subject)

They Are Going To Crank Walk Sometime They Are 7 Bolts Just Wait Till They Get Enough Miles On Them They Are To Low Of Millage Right Now Do The Math What Is The Highest Miles U Have Seen On A Evo

I have been dealing with these cars now for several years now even discuss this topic with jerry aka lancerman and we both agree that the design of a 7 bolt block is better just the crank is weak and the evo is made with the same design as well but if you nitrate the crank I think that would solve the problem besides that its an awsome design.

When did the evo switch over to the 7bolt motor? With the evo4 right? How many evo4's and up have you heard of getting crank walk. I'll give you a hint... as many as you have heard of 1g dsm's getting crank walk. Little to none.
The evo is like any other car if you do not know what you are doing or try to do things cheap you will lose things like reliability and durability.

The reason you never hear of 1 g`s crankwalking is because they dont have a crank trigger sensor. 2g`s do, and once the crank starts to walk just a little bit it kills the car . Jerry`s EVO had a rediculous amout of crankwalk but with out a crank trigger he would have never known if he didnt check for it.
