Default Torn between Evo 3 16g and SCM-6153E

I know theres a huge difference in the two as far as power and everything else but i can't decide. My car isnt driven everyday and is primarily a track only car.Its gutted pretty good and the money is there for whatever mod i wish.I'm thinking the 60 trim is prob overkill for a stock bottom end but i could be wrong.Need some input from the vets who have run a similar turbo's in the past and about thier powerband/spool ect. Thanks in advance.

Get the evo16g.
If this is a gutted track car(like the goodwill car) then you should run 10`s with out a problem.
Dont just jump right on the big turbo band wagon. Take your time and tune in small steps.

one is big, one is small, yet this is an everyday track car? I don't get it.

It will never be legal to drive around.I might bring it out down my street time to time to "test" it againt other cars.

i agree with tom on this one. Build the head and bottom end before doing a 60trim.

im not a vet. but in my opinion i would go big then work on the supporting mods little by little. yes you can slap on a 16g and go fast real quick but you will be spending 500 bucks or so and reach your horsepower limit fairly fast. get the 60 trim that way you dont have to worry about getting a bigger turbo later.

best answer in this thread. it takes knowledge to make big turbos work. 90% of the cars I have driven with t3/t4 turbo would get smoked by a well setup 16g car..

worst advice in this thread. never buy a big turbo with plans to upgrade your setup to match the needs of the large turbo. if your 16g car is not in the 11's or very low 12's a bigger turbo will make you slower. always upgrade the turbo last.
