Default 1st gen vs 2nd gen crank

my friends 95 gst needs a new crank. can i use a 1st gen crank? and if so do i need to use the 1st gen flywheel too?

You can not put a 6 bolt crank in a 7bolt motor.

alright thanx....one more question. if it turnes out that he needs a new motor, can i use a 1st gen gs motor and just bolt the turbo up, or would the compression be too high? and would it bolt up at all?

A 1g motor will not just bolt right in. You can swap to a 6 bolt bottom end but it is a bit involved.
I would get ahold of Jerry if this is something you want to do.
