This is why I am asking tosee if anyone else has done this to see how they got rid of the code.

does it really matter? it's not going to effect how it runs

I didnt have a cat on mine and I never threw a code. Some cars are different I guess. Just have the exhaust put on. If it throws a code, take it to Autozone and have it erased.

i have a catless exhaust me and my check engine light are tight...i can shut it off with the logger but it just comes back on so i gave up shutting it off...my rear o2 sensor is plugged in

Thats what I was talking about. I know he just wants his ecu to monitor his engine and still have use of it but doesn't want to have to clear the cel everytime he drives it,

There was mention about getting an 95 ECU because of OBDI but I don't know what kind of complications this make bring up. Unfortuately for my friend I'm a honda guy. Just trying to help him out. He is in love with his car and wants that thing to be quick. In my opinion, its already quick.

u cant get rid of the light without disconnecting it. or unless u have a logger then u can reset it. other than that u cant if u dont have a cat. maybe your friend should try a high flow cat, then it wont throw the code.
