Default Ran a 12

I took my car to the track yesterday. My first run was a 13.0 with a 1.8 sixty foot. I thought "Hmm, I can do better than that on the launch." The next run, I slipped the clutch out a bit more aggressively and got a 1.7 sixty foot, 12.927 @ 103.74. At that point I was happy with what I had run, and just stopped running for the day. I'm certain I could have been even more aggressive on the launch and pulled a 1.6 and maybe a 12.8 or 12.7, but I don't really care. I reached my first goal for this car, 12.x run on stock turbo, stock sidemount, pump gas. Now I get to upgrade my turbo and go after an 11.9, because my turbo's seals are so shot that I lost a half quart of oil on those two passes .

Hah, I just checked my messages, and there it is. Last night I was helping deal with the aftermath of a friend's misshift at the track, toasted half the stuff in his head . Then some hick redneck towtruck driver insisted that my friend had to ride with him and spent the whole trip berating imports and talking about his "8 second S-10 with a Chevy big block". It "is going to run 7's after I put nitrous on it", when asked what shot "Oh, a whole shot'a nitrous!" :bbb: That was his tow car/street car, his race car is much faster .

Oh, and he said "Man, that's what you get granny shifting down the track, not double-clutching like you should." I'm not kidding. And he'd never seen "The Fast and the Furious".

Congrats on making it into the 12s.

Thanks, everybody. I actually found a video of my first run in the video forum, I'll cross-post it here. Can the 1.8 sixty and a better reaction time prevail over the 400hp 240sx? It takes about 12.4 seconds to find out... http://www.gnbits.com/~uk/notsure.avi
