Default I need help!!

ok i have a problem with my car. my car has been smoking for a while and i thought it was my turbo, so i bought a FP 18g turbo and swapped it out for the t-25. and when i started it up and drove it for a while it was still smoking. i did a compression check on it and its 175-180 across the board, but when i pulled the number 4 cyclinder plug out there was white smoke coming from the chamber, but the other chambers was smoke free? can someone please help me!!

it was the same color before i changed the turbo, with the exception of when i got on it it was big puffs of black smoke with it before i changed the turbo, after i changed the turbo, its only the white/greyish smoke.

What kind of oil do you use? How many miles on the car? Have you pulled the valve cover and checked out the valve seals recently?

It's not that easy. You have to pretty much dissassemble the whole head to check out valve seals. You have to take off the cams, remove lash adjusters, then pop off the springs and retainers. Oh what fun.

What is your point? I could take a head off in less then 20minutes. But last time I checked there is a difference of "taking off a head" and "Removing and dissassembling a head". :bbb:

Thanks for your input though Einstein.

what does this have to do with this guys problem.
You should be able to take a head off in under a half hour.

back on track i would agree with Ian. Sounds like valve seals may be getting bad.
If you let the car sit and idle for a minute then tap the gas will it blow a nice puff of smoke out?
