Exclamation what interchanges between these engines

I'm wondering about swapping a 2.4 into a 96 eclipse with a 2.0 non-turbo. I've been told that the 2.0 head will fit the 2.4 but i don't think i can still use the stock transmission. So, induction and exhaust will fit but if the trans has to be swapped it may be better to find another option...... ANYBODY KNOW?

Explain in more detail. All a 2.4 is a 2L that is stroked, you use the same block so why wouldn't it fit. Your question needs more details.

ok, basically my 2.0 smokes and without going turbo i figured if it's time for a rebuild why not upgrade too. The point...to stroke the 2L. I work for a salvage yard and can get the 2.4 for a decent pirce but, don't want to have to change the trans too. Our copmuter system shows that the major components don't interchange. Can i just drop in a 2.4??? Or will i need to just change the short block? Any better?

are we talking about a mitsubishi 2.4? because arly Galants had a 2.4. Or maybe the Chrysler Stratus has some interchangable parts??

Why do you want biggest displacements? The fastest dsm motor in the world is a 2.0Liter.

the 2.0 in your car is a Dodge 420A engine. The engine you are speaking of using is a Mitsubishi engine. NOTHING is interchangable.

If you want a dsm, buy one. Otherwise just throw a stock replacement in your car and pick up chips in the eclipse.
