A friend of mine has an 96 Eclipse and her car shakes when she is braking from over 40 mph. No rotors are warped. Brake pads are fine. Just want input on what it is.

 

wheel balance? wheel prob, etc.

 

how are you sure the rotors arent warped?

 

+1. I've seen alot of warped rotors on DSMs, seems to be a common problem with overtightening lugs.

 

i took them off today and looked at them.

 

if it is rotors wouldnt you be abel to test it buy going 80 or so and stoping real quick if it shakes alot its your rotors?

 

you cannot always tell by looking at them if they are warped, i do brakes all day long and none of them look warped until you put them on a lathe to actually shave the warped part, just looking by eye is not good enough, and more than likely that is your problem, buy some new ones or get them shaved, warped rotors will cause shaking and vibration under hard braking conditions or faster speeds, a common problem

 

they are new rotors, replaced less then 1 mo....ask for the hard braking, it is not just hard, it is everytime she brakes

 

my friends honda would shake alot and it was his cv joints i belive not sure tho...

 

Maybe her wheels are loose
