No, turn the boost down, but go WOT up to redline in boost. Then let it coast down in gear without braking, slowing down with engine braking. You must do this soon after first running the engine or you start to wear down the fresh cross-hatch on the cylinder walls without fully seating the rings. I'd go to the nearest road you can do a 3rd gear pull on to do a few pull/decel cycles before you drive it any farther.

 

I never unplugged the radiator fan.
