Unhappy Rapid Popping/Clanking Noise Coming from Driver's Front Wheel Area?

Just today a loud repetitive popping/clanking noise began coming from the driver's wheel area. The popping gets faster with increased speed. It only does it when the car is in motion, without the gas pedal being depressed (coasting). It doesn't do it when I'm idling at a stop light, parked, or pressing the brakes or gas while in motion. The noise is definetly coming from the driver's side front wheel or the immediate area around it. I put an underdrive crank pulley on about a week ago, and checked that but there seems to be nothing wrong with it or the belts. I'm thinking it's something to do with suspension, my first thoughts are axel or cv joints maybe? Can anyone help??????

check to see if your CV boots are torn. Also look for any abnormal wear on your brake rotor.

I took a look at the rotor and it seemed fine. Quick glance at the boots and didn't see anything either....?

You guys have any suggestions on where to take it? I live near DM and Waters. I think I'm just going to have my girfriend take it to a mechanic (possibly the dealership) while I'm at work.

have you had your struts out lately? the bolt on top of your shock may have loosened up. put pressure down on the car and then tighten it.
