OK... this might be the simpliest of all.... but about a month or two ago aaron had the same problem... and we found out that it was loose lugs... they had loosened up somehow and the wheel had the slightest wobble I guess... but that fixed it... tightened up the lugs and off we went... check it out

I can't believe it was so simple. Earlier, I even tugged on the wheel a few times and it didn't seem loose...guess I didn't check good enough though. I'm pretty releived though, I was expecting to shell out atleast a couple hundred on the suspension. Before tightening the lugs, my gf took it to satan (aka Mits dealership) and they told her it would cost $78 just to look at it and they wouldn't even be able to do that until tommorrow. Thanks to everyone with their suggestions and guesses...thank god that horrible sound is gone!

The sad thing is that those f*ckers would of probably made something up suspension wise that would of costed you an arm and leg, just so they could make some commission off of ya.' Definently glad to hear you fixed the problem and didn't get raped by Satan. Last thing you would of needed was a wheel coming loose and flying off while driving.

If the lugs were loose, I'd check the studs. As a result of working through the night and getting careless on the last steps, I once left the lugs on my passenger side almost completely loose and after driving like that for a day or two before realizing it, they were all mangled. Easy fix, fortunately.
