what he said...

if youre going for a beater car thats faster than a kia, by all means go ahead. your money could be spent in better places, like nitrous. youll get way more bang for your buck than on a header.

intake,header and exhaust are an easy way to spend $1000 and only get a 10% power increase.

spend half that and get a 50% power increase

remember the urban legend of some kids who took a Neon rental car, put a 125 wet shot on the intake tube and ran high 13's or something crazy like that? you too can do the same thing.

2GNT = "Wide body Neon"

I'm not trying to say my car is fast. But everybody has told me that I am the fastest NA eclipse they have raced. I only have an AEM 1 peice cold air intake, gutted my cat, and an APEX'i N1 exhaust. That combo give your motor a really nice sound. But they are right if you want to really make power you need either turbo or nitrous. I had the opportunity to put a turbo on my car but putting a turbo on a nonturbo car is too much of a hassel to take care of so I sold the parts that I had. Nitrous is a way to make quick easy power but it also wears your motor down faster. Some of the 2g NT cars (not sure the years) have the fuel pressure regulator in the back of the car which makes putting nitrous on your car a challenge. So it is really up to you, I myself am going all motor because it will keep the car's reliability since I need a daily driver. I am just looking to make a little more power but not looking forward to making a lot. In my opinion 2g eclipses are a very nice looking car, you could make your car look nice if power isn't your thing.

w...t...f....that was the most wrongful information about nitrous i think i have ever seen...

wears down the motor faster??? wtf you think a turbo would do? if anything a turbo would wear it down quicker...n2o gives a colder intake charge, much cooler than a nicely glowing turbo. and you wont be juicing it all the time. What does the fuel pressure regulator have to do with putting nitrous on the car? if its a dry kit it wouldnt matter, if its a wet kit, your still going to be tapping it onto the fuel line. its incompetant people that break using nitrous. if you can monitor your a/f ACCURATELY and keep it in a good range, you will be fine...the problem most people encounter with bottom end damage is they go real lean, or the bottom end cant handle a sudden slam of hp/tq (where you see the benefit of a progressive unit)

i say, if you want cheaper power and be somewhat fast...get nitrous. but dont half ass it, and dont cut corners, and tune it for cold weather.

see the only thing about nitrous is that you don't get power all the time...the thing i'm saving for(thank god for taxes, *claims 0) is a turbo kit...and after the kit im gunna save for some stronger internals and then increase my psi....so now the topic can go to what is the best turbo for the best price in your opinion? thanks for all your help by the way

you dont get the power all the time...but then again, your not going to be WOT all the time either.

as far as a turbo goes, its not so much how much psi you want to run, but what turbo do you want to run at what psi (t25 @ 15psi and a 20G at 15psi arent going to flow anywhere near the same numbers). basically, pick a realistic power goal, how streetable you want it, and what creature comforts do you want.
