fuel pump
hmmm my walboro 255 doesnt seem to whine as loud as everyone elses. You can hear it when you first start the car but then it goes away. Guess Im lucky.
Some do some dont. My first walboro sounded like a turbine. It was so loud. I got so tired of it i bought another one and it was much better. I could hear the radio with it.

Yes, I've seen the inconsistency. My friend Johann, "bob marley" on this board, has an sr 240sx with the same dang pump I have, I saw it when he installed it. I've never once heard his so much as squeak, let alone drone out his exhaust. It's luck of the draw and as always, I am one of the people who lost. That's why I'm not screwing around with it, I need to replace the bracket because the fuel level sensor broke and when I do that I'm going to have a nice Supra pump ready to replace the whinebro. Luckily there is a large market for used walbros, as long as I can find a good price on a supra pump I shouldn't have much trouble selling the whinebro to pay for it.
Thank you for the link. One of those pumps, along with an afpr (I seem to be running very rich at low rpm already) is a high priority on the mod list. I just have to see how much I'm going to have to spend to fix the problem the car is having now and I'll have an idea of when I can get it, as well as the rest of plan "Sound like stock". Just need a stock axle back and an electric cutout to go along with that pump.
these damn cars are soo picky... my car can vent and it runs fine (and thats the COOLEST thing in the whole world... not!) but my fuel pump i swear gets louder everydamn day... i dunno, the fucker that sold me it i think lied about it... a walbro is a walbro but my pump looked mega different then the one on v-faq. the only way mine would fit on the pump housing or whatever is if the wire harness was facing the other way... and the rubber piece of shit wouldnt fit. but who cares, it works just loud as hell but im not about to spend more money on something just becasue its noisy, i do what baseball said and turn up the music

I would turn my music up but my front speakers are blown. My rear speakers are removed. And also blown. 15 watts and 8 ohms and 12 years old + ~25 wats and 4 ohms and turning it up because they sucked even before they blew= time for new speakers.
And before I can buy a pair of speakers for the front I have to fix this problem that randomly causes my car to shut down in the middle of the road, and also prevents me from opening the throttle. My friend Largo was stuck in the middle of Dale Mabry for 5 minutes because he didn't know how to circumvent the worst of this problem (though I did warn him about how crappy my car is
).

For comparison sake, the stock FD3S pump flows about 36 GPH and the Cosmo pump flows about 42 GPH (both according to Mazda Comp).
36 GPH = 136 LPH
42 GPH = 159 LPH
The 3000GT VR4 uses Nippon-Denso fuel pump rated at 190 LPH
The Supra uses a Nippon-Denso fuel pump rated at 290 LPH
The Holley brand fuel pump is rated at 255 LPH, of course.
The Holley brane fuel pump for weak-status cars is rated at 190 LPH.
Check E-Bay frequently for Walbro/Holley/Mustang 255 fuel pumps... i bought mine for $93 shipped.
