Default Finally

Its about damn time. My parents have finally decided to let me begin looking for a new car. Since my old car is just basically becoming one problem after another. Stupid alternators... Anyway. I will probably be looking at a 97-99 GST since I figured this would best suite my needs. I am not looking for crazy fast, just something that will keep up with most cars out there and looks damn sexy. I want something comfortable with leather and nice cold AC. I do not plan on modding it a whole lot. Prob. just the stage 1 at DSMtuners which will take me about a year to complete. I am extremely looking forward to becoming part of the DSM community that I have been longing to actually become a part of. I will keep you updated on my quest.

Thanks Ep ill keep that in mind when im looking.

Also skillionare, I love 1g AWDs but for my needs I figured a 2g would suit me better. Well see how fate will have it but now instead of dreaming about one when I am looking at cars I can finally begin to be serious about it.

yeah I have seen the thread at dsmtuners on the crankwalk poll.

For those who care...

I went today to Hillsborough automart to look at a 98 GST. It was black with the swirls *shudder* wheels. It has 74,000 miles. There have been some modifications. From what I could tell there was some sort of intake Dejon tool maybe? Also a 1g BOV and it had some sort of aftermarket exhaust. The car was also lowered but I couldnt tell with what springs or anything. The car also seemed to be missing the cover for the cams? Passenger side door handle was broken which I know is a common problem. The engine seemed to idle a little rough when i first started it but after it warmed up it was smoother, is that a problem or do a lot of DSMs do that? The guy said they had just done the spark plugs and wires and they said they could get a set of the turbo rims to put on it. The radio also didnt work but they said they could put in a new CD player. That wasnt a really a big deal b/c I planned on taking my old one out anyway. Overall the car seemed not too bad. It shifted fine on the test drive. Is there anything else I should ask them about it or anything I should have checked? Thanks. Also if you want to see the car it can be found here....

Looks like a pretty good price for a 98. You could always ask them if they'd mind you running it by your trusted mechanic (dont let them send you to one) and get it looked over. May want to run it by mitsu to see if the crankshaft play is within spec. If the dealer wont let you take it by the mechanic, then thats a sign to move on. Good luck
