Bro come over to my place and I will hook you up.

I have got an all custom 2.2 intercooled that I built with a hybrid turbo built to push 34 psi.. I also have a MP3 that has an intake that I built from other intakes.. I also made sealed ram air setups for other Proteges in my car club.....

The engine isn't that strong, goodluck uping the boost.
The engine is the same as the non turbo protege.

The FSDE rods are "thought" to be done at about 15 psi on a well sized turbo. It's *weak* when compared to other mazda pistons motors, but still stronger than your typical import 4 banger.

Did you fail to read the caption? The 2L is their race engine, and is running 105 octane. The 1.8L dyno is on 91 octane...

Hello? It says race car, not a speced out race engine with race parts inside.. Its a stock engine, did you call Corky & ask him or YOU just run your mouth?.. You always claim to know so much. ...

MrWoo is running all stock parts , not even balanced the internals, left them stock, because they were so good, reworked the head himself and runs 300 plus HP N/A @ over 8500 rpm..

The post was to show how much power can be made with stock internals, it also shows the amount of PSI the engine can withstand on stock internals...and I would like to see some of your proof the engine is weak,, next time read the post and quit starting trouble...also next time watch your mouth...

How about you get your engine families correct?

You're showing dynos of a BP, which IS a VERY strong stout motor. The Protege hasn't had the BP since '98. They now use the F series of the engines, with the FPDE in 99 and 00 and the FSDE in all the 01+ engines. The F series is lighter, but slightly larger, isn't NEARLY as sophsicated, and isn't nearly as strong. Gone is all the technology that built the BP, which was designed to WIN WRC. In went the economy crap that dies above 5500 rpm due to a friggin AWFUL rod ratio and crap cams.

A BP on STOCK internals is good to a proven 400whp (Ric on miata.net)

The FS, which hasn't REALLY been pushed into it's limits is THOUGHT to goto about 15 psi.... It's vastly a more fragile motor, but is still fairly stout compared to most other import offerings.
