So this will only affect Mazdaspeed3 ? Cause I was considering 1 for my Speed3.

the affect will be more noticeable on an FI car like the speed3
it won't give an NA motor the ridiculous number that genious up there was claiming.
If you're asking about hydrolock from sucking in water, then yes that affects all piston powered cars, rotaries not so much.

it's called a hydro sheild, they work pretty well as long as you don't actually submerge the intake in water

Hydro Shield won't protect you from submerging your filter which is the big problem concerning CAI. If you drive through a puddle that is deeper than it looks, and your filter goes underwater, you are SOL.

The only thing that will protect you in that situation is one of these.

AEM intake bypass filter. You insert this as a coupler at some point in your intake system, and if the filter goes underwater, this will allow you to suck air from the top of the engine bay and prevent a hydrolock.

Nealio Is Correct But You Gotta Remember As A Rule Of Thumb Don't Go Across "lil Puddles" Of Water Too Fast !
Wide Open Throttle=more Suction= Possible Bypass Failure=hydrolock....

Just Run A Longer Pipe Down And You Should Be Safe..
