Default Rotard miata?

kinda had the idea of 12A swapping a miata, yes carbed.

anyone know much about this swap?

other than some custom mounting and custom cross member how hard could it be? from what i've seen you dont need to cut the subframe any. and its carbed so I've only got grounding and ignition to run.

Its pretty simple, only hard part is since the miata uses a Power plant frame and the stock tranny doesnt bolt to a 12a you have to do something for that.

I dont know for sure but i think you can take a 12a tranny and put a miata tail housing and output shaft in/on it to use the stock PPF.

It has all been done though google is your friend.

PPF= Power plant frame.

Unlike a normal car a miata doesnt have a tranny mount, the tranny is mounted to the Diff buy a Frame, Called the PPF.

After a quick search i was right.

Take the stock miata tranny and just swap the bell housing from a 12a 5speed and it will bolt right together.

Then all you have to do is fab some mounts for the engine, cake walk.

heavy + unreliable engine = no dream!

I've been thinking about doing this swap for about a year now, I've got a few Frankenstein projects running through my head at the moment but i think 12A boosted miata might take the prize after all this time.

you know, 350whp BP-T swapped festivas are cool too!

anyone know of a good website to order parts from and a good builder for 12a's?

im gonna love oldschool 2 screw carb tuning!

Jordan, you wont do it. It would be nasty, with a bridge port or even a street port. But I don't think I have ever seen you keep a car long enough to actually change something besides wheels/suspension.

I am down to help man, if you actually do go through with it.
