Question racing seats?

Hi,

I am trying to find some racing seats for my 96 Miata. I have tried out a bunch of the popular seats like the sparcos, racetechs, kirkey's and I was hoping to find some other seats to try out.

Can anyone suggest some vendors around Tampa / Sarasota who might stock some other seats? I am hoping to get a chance to sit in some Recaro or other manufacturers seats.

Thanks,

celer

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Epp! Thanks for moving my thread!

I have a quick question for you, is somewhere like a 'vendors questions' forum where I could get this question moved to ? It isn't so much about the Mazda but about finding someone who sells seats.

Thanks,

celer

Have you tried corbeaus? I know alot of the dealers in the tampa bay area stock them. I think recaro is just paying for the name, the same with bride and others.

I plan on getting some F1 Spec seats.

Xenon hid lights, carbon fiber racing seats, off road racing seats, black racing seats

Decent prices.

Good luck. I tried diligently to find a place to test-sit in seats before I bit the bullet and ordered one that I knew was good enough.

I am probably delusional, but I am trying to find an FIA approved seat that I can use both on the track and on the street. I am down visiting my family from VA, and was hoping to find some race shops around here which *might* stock some other seats.

I have tried some Corbeau seats, I like the way I feel and I was gonna get some, but as I did more track days last year, every time I talked to someone who had a set of Corbeau seats they wanted to get rid of them. In general it looks like they don't holdup and aren't comfortable after they get old.

So I did a lot more research, and came across only positive reviews of the recaro pole position seats, but I can't seem to find anyone at the track who has them or any where to try them out.
