I know this thread hasn't been posted in for a while but I would still like more answers, I know Betsy occasional looks at TR id like to hear something from her.

 

I will tell you something I know a lot. I did a lot of research when I heard the news from Jeff at Maztech about them going out of business. About two weeks ago I met a kid that worked at Mazsport in the shipping and recieving department and he was telling me about how none of their parts are real Mazsport parts that all they would do was buy parts from dragonauto, racingbeat, etc. and strip the names off and stamp Mazsport on there and sell them for outrageous prices. ^just PM me I can tell you more plus I have a sneaking suspicion that my turbos were never blown when I got them back from Scott.

Not sure who Ian is, im assuming hes someone who worked there that posts on TR?

 

sigh... I spent so much money at his shop thinking he was a loyal guy who knows how bad he actually screwed me over..

 

i think that by "Ian" he means the owner of Driven Concepts who also turned out to be a big scammer.

 

Not to thread jack, but their are a few guys like myself left. I only take a small amount of customers and focus 100% on their jobs while their car is in my shop.. It's a shame when a few bad apples. I am in the process of rebuilding a rotary engine for a customer. that came in with No compression after a very recent (2800 miles) rebuild. basically it was from re-using junk parts. so you really have to be careful. espically on items like rotaries. overlooking a small thing like Side housing wear can cost the car owner a second rebuild.. I cannot comment on this paticular shop. but if anyone is having trouble finding local Mazda work, I'm willing to take some on.. I port Side and rotor housings, for an affordable price, and do rotary rebuilds and have an in-house fabricator. call to set appointments. I will not take on more customers then I can work on immedatly. so appointments tend to fill up quick. 813-333-1100 ask for Jeff "Treekiller"

 

a while back, a crazy redneck guy named Levi once proclaimed to the mazda tech section that Mazsport was a scam...... then he got banned from TR..... i'm guessing that was like 5 or 6 yrs ago...

anyone remember FAF Racing??? LOL

 

As for my rx7's past and present.... i trust myself and Jeff from maztech working on my car only... shit sometimes i don't trust myself...
