My 87' build-up thread...
Ok well I picked up an 87' Rx-7 from another member with the intentions of turning it into a track car. Well as of right now, the plans have turned into clean up the previous owners fuck-ups. Some of this pictures are from his F/s post to show what it looked like when I picked it up. And some are ones I just took today with my $40 digital camera.
As you can see When I picked it up, it has 3 17*7.5" rims and one 15" Honda Accord rim.

It now has 2 of the 17's that had matching tire sizes on the rear with some 14*5.5's I had on my AE86 on the front.

As you can see in the above pics, it also had hideous side skirts on that are now ripped off.
When I got it, it had some pretty dingy back seats...

So they are now ripped out.

It has a pretty shitty made exhaust using all the factory parts, with a cat-delete pipe and some rice can Magna-Flow canisters.

And a current engine pic... when I picked it up, the AFM was just hanging down by the fan about to get annihilated if it would have gotten hit. So i ziptied it up for the current moment.

As I said Im in the process of cleaning her up. Im dropping the exhaust today to remove everything from the factory manifold back, then welding up a single pipe to dump right before the rear passenger tire(I love watching flames in my mirror). Comments appreciated, but if you have anything negative to say, keep it to yourself.
Thanks for looking,
-Mike

Some pics of the exhaust. This is def. a DIY thing.
Huge tips(Im not a fan of them, but they might be put to use with my design)

This is where they crushed the OEM pipe, to make sure the hanger would go to the right spot and not have the can too high.

Sad attempt for a cat-delete pipe, with the biggest weld holes Ive ever seen.

The actual tip.

And last but not least, the newest addition to my tools.

They are a godsend honestly, so easy just to roll the car around the garage depending on what area I need to get to. The only downfall is, they don't have a wheel lock. So if I lean on the car it just casually rolls with me.

That I do, but whats the fun in a car if it doesn't need work?
Picked up a pair of 17*7's for the front to get her one step closer today. Going tomorrow to pick up a new ignition lock cylinder and tumbler, hopefully. The guy doesn't understand exactly what I need. So I guess Ill see when I get there. Ill snap some pictures of the rims when I get some air in the tires and put them on.

As for the rear wheels, What do you guys think? Black or another color... Im thinking black would make them look just a tad bit better. Painting the fronts black too of course.
These are the front wheels before I got them...

Thanks for your comments,
-Mike
