I have talked of putting a v8 in a miata and pushing 800hp
I have been planing for my miata for some time.
Only the past summer have I started leaning to a v6.
At first I was thinking rb26 or b20.
Now I'm really into the 2jz toyota engine.
The 2jz and do upward 1k hp but...^
Is there such thing as to much for a miata?
The rb20 would be for greate hp and not effecting the weaght of the car to much.
What do you guys think would be best?

Any one got a miata for sale that runs?

I wouldn't run more than 400hp in a 89-93 without a cage.

I can't imagine your serious about the 2jz or '800 hp' V8. A guy in the miata swap forum just listed his build and it was over 11K for the barebones stuff.

it will give you everything you need.

on nitrous i put out 250rwhp and without nitrous i was running 180rwhp. and trust me it felt plenty on the juice. i had a 2002 and it was built. i couldn't imagine more than 400hp in a miata, the driveability would be shit IMO. honestly if you need that much power swap in a SR. you can build a SR as cheap as a honda these days. ZRFEVER has one. check them out

 

btw here is a 99 that needs a motor for 3k

and the v6 you are most likely wanting is a KL or ZE mazda motor and has been put in a miata a few times....
